KÖRA-PACKMAT Celebrates 10^th Anniversary Since Merger

The 10th anniversary is a good opportunity for a company to position itself internally and externally. So did KÖRA-PACKMAT, the globally operating wrapping machine manufacturer from Villingendorf/Southern Germany. During the festival week, customers, representatives, business partners, suppliers, employees and people interested in the company had the chance to experience KÖRA-PACKMAT.

The first part was an in-house exhibition. KÖRA-PACKMAT presented a wide range of products and solutions for wrapping and feeding applications. The highlight was Friday night's official anniversary celebration with a wide variety of food and entertainment. The festivities were closed on Sunday with a Family Day for the employees, their families, friends and interested people.

KÖRA-PACKMAT is a privately owned company, created in 1997 through the merger of PACKMAT, a special-machine building company founded in 1966, and KÖRA, a packaging machine manufacturer founded in 1980. The merged company built on its combined expertise and focused on machines for feeding, collating and film wrapping of flat paper and plastic products. Today, KÖRA-PACKMAT is a full service supplier of packaging lines and feeding systems with many top companies from different branches e.g. paper, stationery, telephone cards, optical media among their customers. Since the beginning the turnover has multiplied to over 20 Million Euros. The number of employees increased similarly. In 2001 the company founded a subsidiary in Singapore and an office in China

The reasons for the continuing growth have been a series of successful strategies that perfectly meet the markets' requirements in time. A modular machine design with a wide range of optional features and innovative concepts provided customized solutions for the customer. The first machine build in 1966 had the capacity to film wrap 50 greeting cards per minute. Today CardSeal wrapping machines can wrap 42.000 telephone cards per hour.

An important business unit are feeding systems. In the beginning, feeders were only developed for the integration in KÖRA-PACKMAT wrapping machines. Within short, the products proved to be very flexible and therefore were sold to other machine manufacturers to be included in their machines or to be used as stand alone devices. Today feeding systems are supplied to many different industrial sectors, e.g. food and pharmaceutical industry.
