NEW COMPACT ULTRASONIC SEALING MACHINE

Bradford based Advanced Dynamics Limited is launching a compact machine for the sealing of flat products, which it believes represents a major breakthrough. The system uses ultrasonic sealing and can be accommodated in a small space. Manufactured by KöRa-Packmat, the SonicSeal has many of the features of the company’s larger machine and can seal at up to 150 cards per minute.
Capable of length and cross sealing, it can also seal using the customer’s own embossed pattern, giving the user a high level of flexibility. The SonicSeal is very easy to operate and can seal pack heights of up to 2.5mm. Ideal for CD and DVD packing, the machine can also produce single or linked packs as required.
Available from Advanced Dynamics Ltd in June 2005 onwards, the SonicSeal will be making its first formal UK show debut at PPMA later this year.
Other options include customised security stick down, four-sided sealing, film folding, tamper proof packaging and even a choice of feeders. The machine is screen touch controlled and is Windows compatible, allowing networking, online help and remote access as further features.
Weighing in at around 1,000 kg it uses centre folded film and can handle pack sizes of up to 85 x 54 mm in a choice of polypropylene films.

Advanced Dynamics Limited believe that the new machine will prove to be a good working base to enable KöRa-Packmat to produce further machines for other markets using the same platform in the future.
Joint managing director, Mike Essler says: “The SonicSeal is the latest machine from KöRa-Packmat and represents a major R&D investment. The machine has already been extremely well received in Germany and we are anticipating a great deal of interest in the UK, when it is launched later this year.”
Other products manufactured by KöRa-Packmat and distributed by Advanced Dynamics Ltd include feeders, folding machines and wrapping equipment for packing greeting cards, stationery and software. KöRa-Packmat also manufacture the CardSeal 500 which is a large scale version of the SonicSeal and can seal 500 cards per minute.
